The Hermes Constance was designed in 1969 by Catherine Chaillet, who named it after her fifth child, born the same year. Characterised by its clean, minimal silhouette and the signature H-shaped turn-lock at its centre, the Constance offers a deliberate departure from the more architecturally complex Birkin and Kelly. It is typically worn as a shoulder or crossbody bag, with the H-clasp functioning as the design's primary statement.
Togo leather, sourced from young bulls, has a fine pebble grain and natural scratch resistance that makes it one of the most durable and versatile leathers in the Hermes range. It holds its shape reliably and accepts dye with excellent colour depth. The piece is complemented by palladium-plated hardware — a bright, cool-toned silver finish.
