The Hermes Kelly traces its origins to the Sac a depeches — a structured travel bag introduced in 1935. It was renamed following a 1956 photograph of Grace Kelly using one to shield her pregnancy from the press, and has carried that association ever since. The Kelly is distinguished from the Birkin by its trapezoid silhouette, single top handle, fold-over flap, and turn-lock closure — a design that works equally as a handbag or, with its detachable strap, as a shoulder or crossbody bag.
Hardware is palladium-plated hardware — a bright, cool-toned silver finish. The 32cm size offers a size that sits between the compact 30 and the generous 35, offering a practical middle ground.
