The Hermes Kelly traces its origins to the Sac a depeches — a structured travel bag introduced in 1935. It was renamed following a 1956 photograph of Grace Kelly using one to shield her pregnancy from the press, and has carried that association ever since. The Kelly is distinguished from the Birkin by its trapezoid silhouette, single top handle, fold-over flap, and turn-lock closure — a design that works equally as a handbag or, with its detachable strap, as a shoulder or crossbody bag.
Chevre is a fine-grained goatskin with a characteristically tight, lightweight structure. Its natural pore pattern adds subtle textural depth, and the leather holds its shape particularly well across all formats. The piece is complemented by palladium-plated hardware — a bright, cool-toned silver finish.
