The Hermes Kelly traces its origins to the Sac a depeches — a structured travel bag introduced in 1935. It was renamed following a 1956 photograph of Grace Kelly using one to shield her pregnancy from the press, and has carried that association ever since. The Kelly is distinguished from the Birkin by its trapezoid silhouette, single top handle, fold-over flap, and turn-lock closure — a design that works equally as a handbag or, with its detachable strap, as a shoulder or crossbody bag.
Box calf is one of the oldest leathers in the Hermes repertoire — a smooth calfskin polished to a high gloss. It develops a rich, deep patina through daily use, becoming more distinctively beautiful over time. The piece is complemented by palladium-plated hardware — a bright, cool-toned silver finish.
Presented in pre-owned condition from 2025 and accompanied by original box, dust bag, receipt, care booklet.
